Know Your Numbers Week 2025
Know Your Numbers Week is a national awareness campaign running from 8–14 September 2025, to encourage everyone to check their blood pressure and take control of their health.
Why It Matters
High blood pressure (hypertension) is often called the “silent killer” because it usually has no symptoms. Yet, it’s one of the leading causes of heart attacks, strokes, kidney disease, and early death. Around 5 million adults in the UK may be living with undiagnosed high blood pressure.

What You Can Do
1. Check Your Blood Pressure
- Visit your local pharmacy – no appointment needed.
- Use a home blood pressure monitor – affordable and easy to use.
- If you're over 40 and haven’t had a check in the last 5 years, now is the time.
2. Understand Your Numbers
Use the NHS Blood Pressure Tool to interpret your results and get advice on what to do next.
3. Take Action
If your blood pressure is high, your GP can help you manage it through:
- Medication (if needed)
- Lifestyle changes:
