How to see your doctor or the nurse
The surgery operates an appointment system whereby patients can make
an appointment by telephoning the surgery on 08444 770927 or by
calling into the surgery during opening times which are 8.30 – 6.30
Monday to Friday (closed lunch times between 1 – 2 pm). There is a
member of staff available to speak to via the telephone Monday to
Friday 8.00 am to 6.30 pm.
Appointments are usually for ten minutes unless it is for medical
examinations or other longer procedures. Our appointment system
allows for on the day booking (please telephone as close to 8.00 am
as possible) Routine appointments can be made in advance however the
advanced appointments are limited and this may mean you have to wait
longer for an appointment with the doctor. For urgent medical
problems a doctor will always see you on the same day; however we
are unable to offer you the doctor of your choice.
On normal working days reception is open from 8.00am to 6.30pm.
During this time you are able to book appointments for any of our
Doctor or Nurse Clinics.
For the Doctors' appointments you have the following options:-
• You may book an appointment from 4-6 weeks in
advance.
• We also hold a proportion of appointments that can be booked
up to 48 hours in advance.
• A large percentage of our appointments can be booked on the
day for conditions that need to be seen where a pre-booked
appointment is not appropriate.
• Appointments are also offered for a telephone consultation
with your Doctor when a face to face consultation is not
necessary (i.e. reporting back on an ongoing condition where
examination is not necessary). We would endeavour to book an
appointment and then the Doctor would telephone you as near to
this time as possible.
If you are unable to attend a Doctor's appointment
during the normal working day we are open for pre-booked
appointments only on:
Mondays 6.30 - 7.30 and 18.30 - 20.00 hours.
Advice and information by telephone
Our doctors are happy to advise you over the telephone if it does
not interrupt a consultation. There is usually a doctor available to
speak to between 8.30am – 9.00am Monday to Friday. This can save time by
avoiding unnecessary consultations or visits. If you wish some
advice or information then please advise the receptionist who will
be happy to record the details and pass them onto the relevant GP or
nurse.
Emergencies
If you are confronted by a serious problem such as severe chest
pain, severe bleeding, collapse or unconsciousness dial 999 to CALL
AN AMBULANCE – before contacting the doctor.
